It has been a long year. You haven’t been home for 9 months. A lot has changed. we have lost too many. Hopefully, you and your family have been fortunate enough to be healthy. Now you are thinking about heading out on the road to see everybody. I’m here to help you travel safely during the pandemic.
First thought:
Don’t let yourself be shamed by wanting to go home. If you and your family are comfortable then you should go! Your local officials will have different opinions but you are smart enough to do what is best. Don’t believe me here are 2 articles from states that are handling the Pandemic completely differently and are experiencing similar results.
Look it up:

These articles show that there is no great way to guarantee success. Your planning carefully is the best way to stay safe. So what’s a good plan.
Tips for Success:
Face, Hands, Feet, Cover your mouth and nose. Nobody cares that you don’t think masks help so cover up! Wash or sanitize your hands often use the mask as a reminder to keep your hands clean. Stay 6 feet away!! Really I hope this stays after the Virus is defeated. Give folks their personal space. If you follow these simple rules you should be good.
What do I do if I’m around a bunch of Mask holes?
You can control what you do, but this is a case where you need to be wary of others as well. How do you control what is outside of your control?
Anticipate:
Look for problem areas and have a plan of what you will do when you encounter them. The biggest problem areas I’ve seen is 2019 normal areas of congregation. You know you can’t sit anywhere in Church. There are fewer people and rows are closed off. This is Covid normal. Mass ends and you see Willie and June after mass and you walk over and handshake and thank realize damn 2020. Old normal jumps in and you forget. Back to travel.
Getting to the airport, If you are parking remember the shuttle can get crowded decide if that’s ok or should you get a ride to the airport ( Uber, Lift, Private Car, or Cab). You can also wait for a less crowded shuttle (important 2020 thing you don’t need to be first).
At the airport the check in area’s are socially distant. At some airports the luggage drop is a madhouse, take your time and you’ll be ok.
TSA Hope you have precheck! This depends on the airport, you will be close to someone at some point either putting your bag on the coaster or picking it up. Everyone stands at the scanner waiting to get their bag first. Remember the earlier rule you don’t have to be first. Wait at the end of the carousel and your bag will come to you.
If there is a Train to your gate, oh well, patients is a virtue, wait for the uncrowded car.
The gate area is a place where it is easy to social distance. Wait at a gate without a departure. Don’t hover by your gate. The plane loads from back to front so wait till your area is called and you will do great.
On the Plane
The Plane is one of the safest spots on the planet. It has hospital grade HVAC that cleans the cabin air every few minutes. Sit back relax you’ve got this covered.
Remember to message me any questions or concerns. I am available to help you plan at no cost to you. Let’s get back out there!!!!!
