So, how did we get here? That’s a good starting point. I wasn’t great at working but it turned out I was way worse at retiring. I’ve had lots of jobs, and for me, that is what they were. I was ready (I thought) to be done when my wife (Laura) was listening to one of her favorite podcasts. Rob and Kerri were looking for some like-minded people to help start a new Travel Group. They had well over a decade in the travel business and were willing to use that knowledge to help others become travel advisors. Laura said You (me) need to call them and here we are.
I did a lot of vetting and a lot of self-introspection. Checked out Creating Magic Vacations and chatted with Rob and Kerri to see if this could be my last work experience. We are very like-minded, love travel, and working (helping) with others find the perfect vacation.
I signed on to a long learning curve. I love helping folks find that magical trip, I also realized I only knew the trips I had taken. Luckily, I love to study and in the 4 plus years I have been doing this I have become certified with Disney, The Bahamas, The Caribbean, Italy, Ireland, Cruise lines Virgin Voyages, Azamara, Ama Waterways. Hurtigruten, Sandals, and many more. I have areas of expertise in Disney (Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and Adventures by Disney), Cruising, and European and American land tours. I’ve gathered the knowledge and the skillset to help with your most adventurous travel.
Then came Covid and a new Adventure
We were in Italy from the end of Dec 2019 through early Jan 2020. There was talk of a new virus found in both China and recently (at the time) in Milan. Not thinking much about it we were in large crowds in both Florence and Rome. Came home and promptly went to Creating Magic Vacations annual meeting “Agent Palozza” in mid-January. At Agent Palozza we meet with all types of vendors, from Cruise Lines, All Inclusives, Hotels, and tour groups. Everyone was excited for 2020 no one was more excited than me. I had trips planned for folks on Crystal Cruises, Adventures by Disney, Land tours to Uganda and South Africa, Disney World, and Disney Cruise Line. I myself was going to Las Vegas for the Men’s Basketball sweet 16. Everything was coming up roses till……

I’ve written a bunch about Covid-19 hell I’ll even Haiku about it. My musings are all here at my blog site. My thoughts are fairly consistent, If you think you are not ready to travel yet, you shouldn’t. If you are ready I can help you find the best and safest places. We started traveling again in July of 2020 and thankfully have been uninfected (sometimes by luck) the whole time. I have been all over the US and to Greece. We canceled trips to the Danube, Las Vegas, and South Africa. I have dealt with Trip providers (Airlines, hotels, cruise lines, and tour providers) I have been successful in getting refunds or bonus trip credits for myself and my clients. The truth is I have the time to sit on hold and after a long wait talk politely to the vendor, it is something you should not have to do. You can count on me to do your heavy lifting when things go wrong.
Right now if you want to travel easily you need the Jab. I’m not political nor particularly woke but. If your vaxxed you can go anywhere and right now that offers you the chance to get the best rates possible.
A truth is that whatever you pay you are getting less than you did before. I can also vet the experience you will have. Hotels have less staff and not all the amenities I can let you know if The Ritz will be a better experience than the nearby Westin. Restaurants have smaller menus and less staff, which one’s must you go to and which one’s may disappoint, I have some thoughts. Finally which places have can’t miss attractions and no lines, I have folks who can let you know if you get the Sistine Chaple by yourself or in a crowd, the difference is startling.
